Villa Lycia
This large family house is set on a plot of approximately 5000 square metres. It comprises four double bedrooms, three bathrooms. Part of the house is divided to provide a totally self contained apartment.
It is situated in the beautiful undeveloped area of Isomata. The majority of this area comprises mature olive groves and almonds. Isomata is about two and half kilometers from Steni Vala which has tavernas, coffee bars and a couple of small supermarkets and excellent moorings for a boat.
The house is 231 square metres in total with a large basement storage/workshop (2.5m x 6m). It is built to take full advantage of the stunning views through every window and is finished to a very high standard. This is a large room with plenty of storage and space for children to play. The room has double balcony doors which open onto a large front facing veranda which runs the length of the house.
The second bedroom is of a similar size (5.8m x 3.6m). This room has twin beds, dressing table and plenty of wardrobe space. Double balcony doors open to the front covered veranda. A light/ceiling fan gives extra coolness if needed.
Opposite this bedroom is a family shower room which serves the two bedrooms.
This is a spacious room with good quality fittings in white.
In the hallway outside bedroom two is a solid door which leads into the apartment area of the house. This can be used as a totally self contained apartment or opened to allow the lower floor to be likewise totally self contained or part of the main house.
On entering the apartment there is a large double bedroom to the right and a bathroom to the left.
The bedroom has the same warm coloured wooden bed, wardrobes, dressing table and bedside tables. A central light and fan gives extra coolness in the summer, if required. French windows open onto veranda part of which is shaded and part open to full sun.
The bathroom has a large shower unit with screen. It also has the benefit of a heated towel rail. Toilet, handbasin plus mirrors and lights.
The hallway leads onto a spacious open plan sitting/dining area and a well fitted kitchen. Tiled throughout in terracotta colour tiles. This room is 3.6m x 8.4m. Double balcony doors lead onto the front facing veranda.
No expense has been spared in the fitting out of the kitchen which is of a darker wood finish with a black work surface. Eye level and under unit cupboards are of a very good quality. Hob, oven, microwave and fridge are in place.
In the dining area there is a dining table and six chairs. There is ample seating in the sitting area for at least six/eight people.
Off this room is another access door to the side of the property which would be used if the apartment was to be used as a self contained unit.
The veranda which runs along the length of the house has both sun and shade and a double swing seat. The views are just wonderful. Looking straight out to sea over the Two Brothers Islands. To the left looking to Peristera Island and to the right to Skopelos but this is not all!
Going back to the hall area we go upstairs to the upper floor and master suite.
The stairs are very wide and again give a feel of luxury, spaciousness and forethought.
The stairs lead onto a huge open plan room with the kitchen area to the left and dining and seating to the right. Off this room is the master suite.
The huge open plan room has an exposed chestnut beamed roof and an inset corner fireplace. It is 11m x 5.3m. It has the benefit of windows to the back of the property which although have nice views over the olive groves are mainly for the benefit of extra light giving that airy, spacious feel.
Two sets of double balcony doors lead out on to the most stunning views I have seen. The height of the property allows clear unadulterated views to the islands above Alonissos ie Youra, Kyra Panayia and Piperi. Across the channel to the left to Peristera, straightahead to Two Brothers, Skantzoura and Skyros and to the right to Skopelos, Evia and over the lower part of Alonissos to Patitiri, Kokkinokastro and beyond!!! Truly stunning.
The large kitchen area to the left has lovely units in beech with a dark work surface. Equipment wise it has a hob, oven, microwave, large fridge/freezer and washing machine.
The sitting/dining area is similarly well fitted with plenty of seating, cupboards, tables etc.
Off this room is the master suite.
The suite is 6.20xm x 3.86m ie very large and air conditioned. It has the benefit of a separate feature beamed roof which makes the room cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The bedroom has a large double bed from which you can lie and admire the view, plenty of wardrobe space, chest of drawers and a dressing table.
The en suite is 2.25m x 4.35m and beautifully appointed with a corner bath, separate large cubicled shower, toilet, handbasin and heated towel rail. There is also a cupboard in here which houses the hot water system and doubles as an airing cupboard.
Going though the double balcony doors from the bedroom onto the private terrace area you have the same stunning view as the main room. This private terrace is 6m x 2.5m.
The house is fully central heated throughout. It also has the benefit of solar heating with a switch over to immersion heating as necessary.
There is an outside diesel store and boiler. Even a generator with instant switch should the electrics ever go off!
Large water storage tanks are situated under the house and there are plans for a grey water tank for the benefit of the garden.
To sum up. A stunning house with unrivalled views. Total privacy but nearness to facilities and beaches. Very well appointed throughout with the best quality materials. Built for ease of maintenance. Providing ample family sized space and privacy. Truly a gem.
