Mourtero House

The area of Mourtero has outstanding views. Situated on the east coast of Alonissos towards the top end on the hillside above the area called Bambakies. Mourtero was a derelict village just fifteen years ago. Now, the dozen or so houses have been renovated and are occupied by foreigners.

This house is on the very edge of the village and offers perfect peace and tranquillity. The position is quite stunning. A car is fairly essential in this area as the nearest shops are in Steni Vala – about ten minutes’ drive away. Between Steni Vala and Kalamakia there is a good choice of tavernas and small bars. The nearest beach to Mourtero is the stunning area of Agios Dimitrios with very good swimming and snorkelling offered at Bambakies.

This house is quite complex and offers a mixture of rooms and sizes. The house has been neglected and needs quite a bit of cosmetic care inside. This is more than compensated for by the location and the price.

The property has two bedrooms at present. One is separate from the main house and could have an en suite shower room added. There is a largish double bedroom with fitted wardrobes in the main building.

The main house is stone plaka floored with open beams. A terrace wraps around the bedroom and sitting area. There are several smaller rooms which are difficult to describe and are much better viewed.

The property is situated on a plot of 4000 square metres. It has its own private chapel. There is also a small store of approximately 25 square metres which could be converted, making the house three-bedroomed.
