Village House in Votsi

This house has been lovingly maintained and looked after. Originally this was a family house and the present owner grew up here. The owner inherited the house as part of her dowry but she now lives on the mainland so the house has come up for sale.

This would be ideally suited as a full time home or as a holiday home for someone who wants to live in a true Greek village and experience local Greek life. Votsi is the second village to Patitiri and it takes about fifteen minutes to walk from one to the other. The house is within a few minutes’ walk of the harbour front in Votsi and the lovely beach of Spartines. There are tavernas, supermarkets and a butcher in Votsi as well as the best souvlaki restaurant! The house has distance views to the sea and the harbour of Votsi but there is a possibility to add on a roof terrace which would give amazing views all around.

The house is situated on a large plot of 400 square metres with gardens to the front and back. It has a garage, hard standing and a store. There is access to the front and the back of the property but both are quiet access roads rather than through roads. It is securely fenced all around.

All windows and doors are made of wood and painted. They are all in good sound condition and are also all fitted with mozzie screens.

Access to the front of the house is through a lockable courtyard door then up a couple of steps and along a path. There are mature fruit trees to both sides of the path including orange, lemon and mandarin.

The house has a front patio with two doors – either could be the main front door.

One door opens onto a hallway which is tiled in an older style marble mosaic tile which is used in most of the rooms. It is extremely hard wearing and in very good condition. The hall is approximately 1.20m x 3m. To the left is the main double bedroom with a part glass door. The room has a wooden floor in good condition. It has a double bed, wardrobes and cupboards. As with all the furnishings in the house they are in good condition and perfectly liveable if a little old fashioned. This room has windows onto the front garden.

Further along the hallway to the left is the second bedroom which has windows to the side of the house. This is at present a single bedroom with the same fittings as the double bedroom but it could easily become a second double bedroom as there is ample space.

At the end of the hall is the bathroom which contains a bath, shower, hand basin and toilet. There is an immersion heater and a window to the back garden. It is fully tiled.

There is a diesel burning stove for heating the house in colder months in the hallway. This is free standing and could be re-sited.

To the right of the hallway is the sitting room. This large room approximately 4.60m x 3m runs the depth of the house. From this room there is an open archway into the large dining kitchen. The sitting room has views to the front garden. It has mosaic marble tiles and presently contains a settee, a bed/settee and other items of furniture. It is a large airy light room which could be made lovely with a little TLC.

The kitchen is 4.20m x 4.20m. It is fully fitted with cupboards (older style) and a deep marble sink. There is a washing machine, fridge and cooker. The kitchen has a door which opens onto the front patio. Plus a large dining table.

Most of the house has a peaked tiled roof but above the kitchen it is a flat roof. It would be easy to put steps up to this area which would give a roof terrace with stunning views all around.

Going outside the property there is a path going around the side of the house and a small outside toilet/store with electric power. Continuing down this path through a side gate gives access to the back garden. This has been used as the main vegetable garden for the family for many years. There are artichokes, pomegranate, pear and cherry with ample room for a large vegetable area. Further down the garden is a secure wire fenced area with a wire roof with vines over and a gated area which has been used as a hard standing for a boat or car. This could be used for this purpose or incorporated into the garden as there is also a brick built garage and store next to this secure area.

A fantastic buy needing only a little TLC. Ready to live in. Great proportions and in a quiet position but central.
