Villa Magnolia
This large luxury villa is situated on a ridge between the Old Village and Patitiri and thus gives stunning views in both directions.
Built by the same builder as Villa Hara. It has been built to the same very high standard and excellently furnished using the best available materials. Facilities include mains electricity and water, satellite TV, telephone connections, solar panels and water storage tanks. All the bedrooms have air conditioning.
Situated on a 2000 square metres plot with a villa area of 158 square metres. The villa faces south west but has views in every direction, both sea and countryside views and to the Old Village.
The plot is completely enclosed by stone walling which blends with the planting, the terracing and the surrounding countryside.
The large entrance terrace is 5m x 4m and is fully tiled. This terrace has a pergola with a canvas sun shade roof which in turn shelters from the sun the huge rattan settee and two easy chairs with white cushions. Steps lead from this terrace down to ground level and to the pool and garden areas. This area has lighting and is the perfect al fresco area in the evening for eating.
The main door opens onto the large living room approximately 6m x 6m. There are also windows on two sides with lovely views. All furnishings are sold with the house and there is an inset fireplace. The furnishings throughout the house are of a dark antique style wood.
Off the living room is a large open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is built with a family in mind and has a cooker, hob with extractor and large Miele fridge freezer. The kitchen runs along the length of the room with only base line cupboards which looks really effective but still gives plenty of storage. Dividing the kitchen from the dining area is an island which is a superb feature. Tiled, as is the rest of the kitchen in a lovely greeny/blue tile the island has a shelf on the dining side and a straight face on the kitchen side. Just under the top surface is a border tile which just picks out the beautiful colours. The kitchen area is approximately 5m x 4m and the dining area the same.
This room has an open beamed chestnut roof in which two very thick beams are set. On these beams are the lights for the kitchen and dining area.
The dining area has a table in dark wood and seating for six. Most of the furniture in this villa is of a dark wood and has a heavier antique feel to it. There are windows in the kitchen area and in the dining area with balcony doors which open onto the large entrance terrace.
Also on the ground floor there is a bedroom and a bathroom.
Bedroom 1 has lovely light coloured tiles with dark wood furniture topped by creamy white marble and a wrought iron double bed. Doors lead off the bedroom to a ground floor balcony with sea views and facing towards the pool.
Next to the bedroom is the downstairs bathroom which is fully tiled in a terracotta/brown tile and beige with white fittings. The room is approximately2.9m x 1.8m with a fantastic Jacuzzi bath with a wall set shower, large tiled vanity unit with mirror over and toilet. This bathroom is a very good size and has a luxurious feel to it.
Beneath the stairs is a utility room which houses the washing machine.
A light coloured marble staircase leads from the living area to the upper bedrooms. Immediately ahead is a small landing area giving access to the two bedrooms and straightahead to a small covered balcony which is above the front door. This balcony is approximately 2.5m x 2m and covered.
Bedroom 2 is the largest of the bedrooms at 4m x 4m. It has open beams, air conditioning and sea views from its balcony. There are also two windows to the side. The en suite is large and fully tiled in blue and white with the additional asset of a bidet as well as shower, toilet and handbasin.
Bedroom 3 is 4.2m x 3.3m and has the same facilities as bedroom 2. Doors onto a balcony and two windows. Again a lovely en suite imaginatively tiled in white with a green mosaic shower well and solid green tiled shower screening.
The outside area is well planted with mature plants. There are large magnolias (hence the name of the villa) oleanders and palms as well as many geraniums which flower all season and give wonderful colour to the area.
The pool is approximately 7.70m x 5.80 and 1.85m deep. There is also the added attraction of a Jacuzzi seating eight at one end of the pool. The views whilst using the pool are truly fantastic looking towards the Old Village, the sea and to Skopelos.
As to pool facilities what can one say… purely luxury. Plenty of sun bathing areas with lots of solid wood sun loungers, there is also an area with a pergola and canvas cover for the needed shade. Off this area is a fantastic BBQ kitchen although that name does not really do it justice. There is a huge built in BBQ, a marble sink and cupboards. This room is 5.5m x 6, and also includes toilet and shower facilities. The BBQ kitchen is open by a large hatch space to the shaded pergola area and also by a huge picture window space to the front. It has open beams, plenty of light and lovely green tiled surfaces with sunflower borders . This definitely brings another meaning to Al Fresco dining and BBQ-ing!!
